Used this a few times in the past and while it's confusing which direction Upload and Download actually mean, recently I had issues with it not responding to drag and drop. Today I reinstalled it with the latest version and it's working very well. This is an update to my previous review where I trashed the app as being useless. It's actually a great way to wirelessly transfer files between PC and smartphone. Changing my 2 stars back to 5.

This app used to be almost perfect. I mostly use the screenshot live streaming feature for teaching a class at a university. It worked great for this, but with the last update, when I go to full screen, it pushes the screenshot way over the right, cuts off parts of it and places an annoying toolbar at the bottom. If I want a full-screen screenshot, I want the full screen of my tablet (Samsung Note 10) to be visible on the computer, but that is not happening. Very disappointing.

I loved it at first. I'm a teacher doing distance learning. I was using it as a "document reader" through remote camera. However, lately it's been freezing, disconnecting or just not working. Hopefully that is something that get fixed. I can't afford to buy an actual document reader! Update: now they charge for the remote camera. Will the purchase make it better because it still disconnects and freezes??

I used this in the past, and I think it has gone backwards... It whines about a service not running on the Samsung S8, with directions that don't work. I cannot find a notification that is not enabled. It does not notify of text messages on the Pc. The Pc widget is a pain to dismiss (it should be as simple as a right click). It can leave a ghost box on the screen. I will probably look for a different solution.

I like the opportunity of having this app since it's almost impossible for me to connect my Mac to my Android device otherwise, but Airdroid keeps crashing/freezing. It happens several times a day. I always have to end the tasks manually, too, because closing the app isn't enough since it continues to run in the background somehow. It's really obnoxious. I have a subscription and I might just be done with it if it keeps crashing like that.

I feel this app is poorly designed and poorly marketed. In its defense, it has granular control of the specific services and features one may want to enable. This can give the user some hypothetical piece of mind if he or she truly feels secure in thinking a third-party closed source application can't have said features enabled without his or her permission (when obviously who knows). For sending texts, it was hit or miss as I had to ensure the service was waiting correctly for the client to talk to this service on my device. It offers a way to make this more seamless, but it states that it costs more battery usage, so that doesn't sell itself to me. Finally, and I suppose this is how it makes it discourage people using this version vs., upgrading to premium, it only allows for 200MB in data connections, and this being from your client; so if you open up your pictures or videos from your client, then you are going to go through that limit quickly. I also found it weird that you have to put in your password !to log out! of the service. That's odd. That being said, I think I'd pass over this service and simply check out a similar app.

Not bad if it's a sunny day. I cannot send SMS messages when I'm on my PC using it on a cloudy day. BUT I can SOMETIMES send on a cloudy day from my phone itself. It's almost like Airdroid is taking a little more "juice" to get those messages sent. So in short, Airdroid WILL NOT work for sending ANY TYPE of SMS messages, which is the MAIN reason i use it. It's never been different, over the 3-4 years I've had it, using 2-3 different phones. Short message, to the point, only. And I tried using it to get pictures off my phone but it's miserably time consuming. Takes longer to DL using airdroid then rooting around for a cable, plugging it into PC an d doing it htat way. In short, it's not a TERRIBLE app, but it's almost as if it were designed in the late 90's and hasn't been updated since. (Update: creator did ask for more feedback, but honestly, there's nothing more I can add. It simply won't send SMS texts, which is partly due to bad connection in my basement, but at the same time I often CAN send with my phone)

used this software for years. Primarily for a simple task. Now that no longer functions and it too complicated to make work. It was so simple to bring up Airdroid on my phone, then launch a web browser to connect to the phone for drop and drag files or links into SMS message to friends. Now it is so complicated and not longer connect. Do not recommend this any more.

Confusing to use. Which way are "up" and "down"? Am I uploading to my phone or uploading to my desktop? Keeps running in the background. It got to the point that my phone (LGV20) was too hot to touch! I uninstalled, and the phone cooled down quickly. I suspect that, while I'm driving, it's desperately trying to connect to the mother ship. Poor signal (thanks, Sprint!) means it has to boost the power to reach a cell tower...all for a connection that doesn't need to be made, when I need the battery for more important things, like navigation! Ask me if I want the app to run in the background! Don't just assume that you're the most important app on my phone! I don't use AirDroid more than once a month because of poor performance. It's faster, but inconvenient, to email each photo separately to myself, and extract the photos from my email than to locate and transfer files via AirDroid when my phone is right next to my desktop/laptop.

I'm using Android Pie and Mac 10.3.5. The AirDroid connection to the remote tablet lasts 20-45 minutes before it drops for no apparent reason. Then you have to click through a couple of screens to reconnect the session. The only good thing I can see about this is that at least you don't have to use USB to setup the connection again, like Vysor. April 8, 2019 Still requires that you reconnect with USB every time you reboot or restart the app. I'd pay for a non-root method that does not require using USB more than once.
