I am not one to take the time to actually write a review. I usually just rate things with the stars but this is so disapointing frustrating. I've been using this app with a collection of apps that track game, movie, book collections for a few years to scan the barcodes of movies, games, and books to add to my collection lists. It worked great for a long time on two different phones running Andoid 8&9. New one with 10. It focuses but won't capture.

This app is not going to provide you all the information you want. Normal barcodes, and even QR codes, may be just regular text or a number that is only understood one way. Yet remember that this lets you read a URL, etc. BEFORE you go to it, thus is why it is great. I have no device I can test with, but if it is still true, it may have issues with devices that have no camera focus.

This app allowed me to import WiFi networks and passwords from a QR code in one tap, even on a device with an older version of Android (9) that has no built-in option in settings or network settings to add (or export) a WiFi network from a QR code. Thus, I spent under 5 seconds in this app today. How convenient, simple, and wonderful! Instead of fiddling with complex WiFi passwords or broken barcode scanning apps, I was on to bigger and better things in my life (like writing long reviews).

Wow I'm having the same issue as many others. I had this app for so many years and it worked great. Then the recent updates messed it all up. Now it is hard to focus on a barcode. Sometimes it sends to a page saying I won a Ps4 or other ads that have nothing to do with the baroda I scanned. It's a terrible app now. I'm deleting it

It's ugly but it does the job, and most other barcode scanners are based on its code. I recommend disabling the "retrieve more info" option in settings as this will "visit" every URL you scan in the background whether you end up clicking the link or not. This can break one-time-use URLs, or leak info you thought was private. That option should be disabled by default, IMHO.

The application is very light, concise, works fast, does not contain ads and is built on an open source project. Many users write that the app started showing ads in the last few months, but the last update was 02/25/2019. Unfortunately, they confuse this app with an already removed one, which actually started to show ads aggressively. This leads to a drop in the rating of a good application that accidentally happens to have the exact same name. It is necessary to look not only at the name of the application, but also at the manufacturer.

Please add an option to put a different sound when the barcode is a duplicate so we don't have to check the history list everytime we look for a duplicate. Imagine scanning hundreds and thousands of barcodes looking for a duplicate. Good luck. haha If you add this feature, you will be the only app that has this feature. I will even pay for this app. Until then will I give my 5-star rating. Thank you!

I've been using the app for years and always noticed that sometimes it's working fine, sometimes it will just not recognize a QR code which, as I found out today, is recognized within a fraction of a second by another app (Google Lens). So I must reduce my previous rating, the app has room for improvement. Still positive: No ads and no malware, apparently.
