Taking it down another two stars. The weird glitches and bugs have gotten worse in the years since I reviewed the app. I never thought I'd be one to complain about ads on a free app, the insidious nature with which this app has loaded almost every button click with a pop-up ad that is difficult to close. If the paid version was reasonable I'd pay for it, but it costs soo much more and you get so much less. It was good once, it's almost unusable now. Just paid for the far superior Podcast Addict

This is designed well, and it was worth it to me to subscribe for a few years, BUT it consumes SO much battery, I've had to switch apps. Basically, Castbox would keep my phone awake (even with the screen off) for hours after I was done playing anything. Closing the app doesn't stop the battery drain; I have to force close the app, and forgetting to do it meant that my battery might drop by 20-30% over half a day. That finally got too annoying, so goodbye.

I have used this app for a long time, as it has RSS feed ability and is, in my opinion, better than some of the newer to podcast apps. Until recently, that is. Before, the app seamlessly connected via bluetooth to my car, but now after a few min (or when my phone screen goes to sleep) it completely disconnects. When I go longer distances I used Android Auto instead of bluetooth, but the short distance from work to home is more convenient with bluetooth. I love listening to the podcasts with this app, but if this continues on I may have to switch to a different app. I will also say that it connects fine to bluetooth headphones of all types. Its just my car.

I've been using this app for awhile now. I never had any real issues until recently. For some reason, the app doesn't allow for continuous playback even though I have toggled between the 3 different options trying to figure it out. No matter what option I set, playback stops at the end of the episode and will not advance forward on its own. I like listening to podcasts at bedtime but having to start the next episode as I'm drifting off to sleep defeats the purpose for me.
