Great option to use this to avoid the crazy privacy violations & space IG & FB assume. Does sacrifice functionality: No messaging, Stories are pretty much impossible to publish or view stats/viewers (UI design does not have a "Send" button & you can't alter in the same way as on IG. UI does not easily allow you to see your Stories views easily, hit or miss, half the time downloading the Story instead, due to the controls overlapping) but you can view others' Stories fine. Some cool features!

Works reasonably well. I like that it does not start animations automatically and that the purchased version skips sponsored posts. Needs ability to hide story options while leaving stories enabled, liking and replying to comments from the updates page, and messaging. If it had those I could remove the default client.

I've been a big fan of this app for a long time ...but it's incredibly glitchy on my Pixel 6. Search function does not work, when attempting to search a name it immediately closes the keyboard. Download buttons only appear roughly 50% of the time and lately the Instagram home page feed has had all posts running together and overtop of each other. When the app works it's the best of it's kind.

Does give you the option to make the stories go away, which I like...but you have to redo it every time you open the app. You can save pics, which I love. I don't receive notification when my fav igs post tho, that's a bit of a bummer, hope that's a feature you're working on...overall a great IG experience, especially since you get posts in chronological order as I prefer.

Very laggy compared to original Instagram. Takes multiple clicks to load a story. Original Instagram. One Click and its loads instantly. Posts take 4 to 6 seconds to fully load. Original Instagram instantly loads on a click or press. Overall this app is perfect for occasionally use or as a supplement to the main app. But if someone trying to replace the original Instagram app for this. Someone likely get frustrated fast.

Could be pretty awesome once they restore full functionality. I currently have the unlocked 1.1.3 - 80 version, which seems to be the most updated version. That said, it's still more full-featured that the official app, while apparently less RAM and battery-hungry.

Works okay. I like the features and it seems to be easy on the battery. I downloaded the app because the Instagram and Instagram lite apps would not give me notifications. This app gave me notifications until the second day. Not sure why. The friendly for Facebook has been giving consistent notifications and seems to works better.

Does the basics of what Instagram does. No ads! But... you cannot post stories or resize anything for your stories. You cannot use the share arrow to send a post to someone. However, you can tag someone in a comment when the app lets you (lets: meaning the keyboard actually pops up when you click into the chat bubble; you have to close and reopen the app to have that to work as it should). I definitely came to to Friendly For Instagram to get away from the ads, and now I'm less addicted, too. 👏

Let me be honest. This app is a major disappointment. The features promised in the paid version worked half the time. They seem to have finally fixed however, they're only present in your main feed. Visiting photos I've bookmarked can't be downloaded. So this app does offer features but with a pretty big asterisk.

Direct Messaging doesn't work, I tried sending a post and the receiver did not get it. If you receive a message and view it, the notification will not go away. When viewing an account's story, it doesn't start it off from the new stories you have not seen, it puts you all the way back. Basically, it doesn't track or can't tell which stories you've already seen from each account you follow. The app is also laggy and frequently will not refresh your feed with latest posts.
