Ulasan untuk Tumblr—Fandom, Art, Chaos
Look, the tumblr app used to suck. But it doesn't anymore. I can't tell you exactly when it changed, but all of a sudden things load reliably. You have good options for customization and accessibility. The shortcut functions make sense. I'm not talking about the contents of the social media site Tumblr, that's an entire other discussion. But the app is actually pretty good, even though I never thought I'd say that.
Love the site itself as online communities go; it's unusual in the ease of activating a chronological feed and limiting posts on that feed to be from sources you chose to see, while you have the separate tab curated by the algorithm if you ever want that. There are some surprising quality of life features that you may have to discover (like tap and hold the repost button to have a quick menu for queuing etc), but they work well. Only very heavy gif posts lag, glitching fast typing in tags.
App is nice for scrolling and casually browsing or reviewing old posts. For the most part the options for creating posts with text, photos, videos and all that are great. But I enjoy posting quotes and there's really no function to distinguish it from a regular text post. I would prefer to have my quotes formatted as quotes and not text. For now I've been posting quotes from my computer but it would be nice to have the same feature in the app.
I really enjoy this app, but I'm tired of it being constantly shown ads about shaving balls. Even when I click the stop showing this ad. It's always there. Like I get ads are a thing on a site, helps keep site running and all, but I'm tired of the same manscaping ad all over it after click stop showing me this ad about 30 times now.
I really enjoyed the app... BUT for the past few days it has been acting weird and I wasn't sure if it was because of Tumblr changes. 1) When I type tags, letters stick; 2) my messages tab is gone; 3) I don't receive any notifications about my activities or anything anymore; and 4) I can't reply on any posts at all anymore. I unistalled and installed the app again. I also logged into my account through a web browser in case it was an app issue. No luck Please fix it. Thank you!
EDIT: Great! I can't even start the damn app after reinstalling it. Amazing. || Okay, if the app wasn't completely broken before, it is now. Seriously, it barely functions. 8/10 times, it crashes within five minutes of opening it, and with the other two times, it crashes before it's even been ten minutes. It freezes constantly too, so it's barely usable in it's current state. The recent updates really just destroyed the app with the sheer number of bugs it introduced.
Ever since the app updated, it keeps glitching out, freezing, and crashing every time I scroll on my dash. I suspect it has something to do with the ads, it seems to act up when I try to scroll past them. I get a similar effect sometimes with GIFs but it isn't as bad as with the ads. It's made the app virtually unusable, which is really sad for me since it's currently the only way I can access Tumblr and I've been a member since 2012.
The app crashes every time I start it, and then it proceeds to use almost 13% of my CPU even though I can't see it running in the background until my system sends me an alert that will let me actully shut it down. Tumblr is usually glitchy, but I've now been completely locked out and it's beyond frustrating. This has been going for almost a week now and I'm a couple days away from just deleting the app at this point.
They are now allowing advertisers to flood the system with a million duplicates of the same ad so the "hide ad" function doesn't work, as evidenced by every one of the ads having a different number of 'likes' and no matter how many times you try to hide it, it comes up again. I'm talking about the super annoying VideoPress ad. I wasn't interested the first time or the hundredth time either. Just obnoxious.
Okay so my biggest complaint was that when you use the mobile app version, if you try to type up a post, ultimately even when you go to save a draft it errors and you lose your whole thing. This didn't happen for a while and now it's back to happening. Every time I try to write something out, first it might suddenly erase the last few paragraphs of something and then when I get frustrated and I'm just going to save it in a draft to work on on a laptop, it errors and deletes my whole thing.
