Amazing to text and call in, and keeps records of previous conversations, good for looking back. Allows me to send multiple pictures at once. I've been using this app for almost 5 years and I hate that's it being replaced. My friend was forced to get the new app and is currently going on a rant.

This app is very useful, but it mostly depends on the device it's downloaded in, it's pretty slow in some devices and pretty fast in others, it also depends on the connection of your own wifi connection. I looked at other reviews, saying it was boring because it was slow, that's not the app's fault, it's your device's fault. Others say it's unhelpful, sure, it might not work without internet connection, but it can work from long distances, I live in the USA, and call a friend from Australia, and being honest, the quality of the call is perfect!! Sharing images and videos is easy as heck, and you can use the app for communicating with lots of people, heck- it even has a friend group chat option. It can't get any easier to use it..!!

Once in a while the app closes constantly and constantly and I have to uninstall and reinstall it. Another thing I don't like is that ever since the update calling in groups now need a link. It's annoying. In use to be able to press the button and boom. Other than that this is like an easy Microsoft teams. You can present, you have a chat box, it's just great

Just another application that allows you to text you're friends in group text format just like you can do with your standard text messaging system. I just keeps it separate from your standard messages. I don't see much of a purpose for it but others might I gave it 3 stars based on the easy to use and system, application works fine. Took away 2 stars because I fail to understand it's purpose

How to explain why I still use possibly the most bug-infested app Google still maintains: I'm more or less forced to. Using it for SMS on a Pixel 3 with project fi, FYI. First of all, if you want to change the notification sound, you have to change it in like five different places, under settings, then sms, then under your email...plus jump through some hoops with permissions. Second of all, once you start using it for SMS, it automatically captures all your texts and makes it impossible to stop using it. Even turning sms off in settings doesn't change a blessed thing. Now that wouldn't be such a problem if it did its job or it Google would just discontinue the sms option on project fi phones. See the issue is that occasionally it decides that it just doesn't feel like receiving messages that day. Someone can send you a text and it won't notify you until 8 hours later. Sometimes it notifies you of one person's texts, but not someone else's. Sometimes you have to open the app to get any notifications at all. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to all of this which doesn't surprise me. It's computers we're dealing with here, after all. The good things are that when it does work it works well. It's simple and straightforward for a messaging app and also supports wifi calling. And the real seller is that it supports a web browser interface for messaging as well.

Google, you guys gotta fix this app. Why update the app if it's going to be for the worst? There is a super weird thing that happens when you type a message to someone -- as you type the person's face shows up as highlighted at the bottom, as if the person is on and can see the message. The face stays, highlighted, for about a minute, then the face disappears and it turns out, they were NEVER there. This is a problem because previously the person's face only appeared if they were actually in the app and could see the message. Having the face appear highlighted even though the person is not there implies that the person sees the message thereby creating unnecessary confusion if they have not. This happens on my computer and phone. It seems like a careless glitch. Please fix this.
