I have purchased hobby 2 magazines and I love them. Especially that I can read them without internet access bc we don't have that at the cottage. They are publications that I can't get from my local library, and I don't have to give them back! 😊

App loading time needs to be quicker. Or offer a shortcut directly to my downloaded magazines. Loading time makes me less likely to use app during short minutes of downtime. Apps like tiktok or reddit are instant gratification.

My original review is below. Now for the first time in three or four years the Zinio app will not install saying it may be inappropriate. I have lost access to hundreds of previously downloaded magazines. Its infuriating. Previous review. Since I got the popular Samsung S7 the app has not been functional. For almost 4 months Zinio has been saying they are working on it. First they said it would be fixed by September now it's October. Mea and popular device. It should be a very high priority.

App has gotten worse after the enforced upgrade. Reading space is less-efficiently used, with tons of wasted screen space. Why do the page thumbnails cover part of the reading area when there's all this blank unused screen?? No more dark mode, it's BRIGHT WHITE ALL THE TIME. No option to start in your library page, they make sure you land on the shopping page just to annoy you. Here's a clue Zinio: 99% of my usage profile is reading something I own, not shopping. The extra step is unnecessary.

I have been buying magazines and using this app for over 5 years. During this time I have had no issues. As of two weeks ago the app shuts within 1-2 minutes of opening on both of my Android tablets. I sent a dump file last week and have heard nothing back. I gave it 2 stars Bacchus of years without issue, now I feel like it is a loss of money.

I purchased one issue of a quilting magazine, and the digital issue on Zinio didn't come with the pattern inserts that accompany every print edition, rendering half of the patterns useless. The desktop app for Chromebooks has a bug. Every screen has a blue tint over it, even the login. Some pages load correctly until scrolling, then it looks like you've "selected" the whole page without clicking. Downloads don't transfer between platforms under the same account.

While the variety of magazines available is good...i find the pricing to be overly expensive. You can only subscribe to individual titles and the price per magazine can be up to 5.99 each. There are better options out there where you can subscribe monthly to the app and have unlimited access to multiple magazines for a much cheaper cost.

I have been experiencing performance issues over the last year or so. App would freeze, pages would not load, download would just disappear. But now they are using app notifications that mimic messages or other traditional notifications. It is absolutely irritating. I can't count the number of times that I look down to see a bell or chat box thinking I missed an important thing, only to see its zinio. THAT is why I am uninstalling.
